The Adventure Begins…

Beginnings…

They are where everyone start. It doesn’t matter what you are doing or where you are going, there will always be a beginning to something in your life. The beginning of your life, the start of a new job, the first steps on campus, the first day of school, the birth of your child, the first notes of a song, and the list can go on and on. Everything has a beginning. We are surrounded by the beginnings of other people’s stories and the fictional stories that we enjoy. The founding of America, the invention of Henry Ford’s assembly line, the invention of the printing press, the opening lines of Star Wars and many more. These stories are inspiring to us and spark the start of an idea that we have.

Every year at the start of a New Year, many people make resolutions. Resolutions of starting something that you have not done or have not done in a while. They are the ideas of beginning something. Maybe you have done the same.

You might be saying to yourself, “Ya. Ok. Where is this going?” I say all this about beginnings because they are the big moments in life. Some of these beginnings are not so big, however, there are many that are. Some of these beginnings might be to start going to the gym to get into shape, to read more books, to start a business, to ask your girlfriend to marry you, or to start a course to increase your skillset. The beginning of an adventure. Whatever it may be, these decisions are big, both physically, mentally, and spiritually. Beginnings are the start to the many adventures of life. This website, this post, is one of my many beginnings/adventures, and I want to share them with you. I have made this website and business to, hopefully, inspire you to take your first steps into beginning your adventure.

I don’t know about you, but there have been so many opportunities and ideas that have never had their proper beginning. You get the inspiration to do something and that is where it stays, an idea in your head. There are many adventures that we miss out on because we simply did not begin them. We let the fear of others’ potential opinions stop some of these beginnings dead in their tracks. The beginning that we think of taking seems so monumental, that we do not act on it. Are these things difficult to overcome? Yes. It has taken me a long time for me to act on creating this website and business. Thoughts of, “Who would want to hear what I have to say, I’m a nobody.” Thoughts of, “Beginning a business seems too complicated.” Was this difficult to do? Yes and no. There were many times that I had the thought to just give up on this. Yet here we are. All it took was a change in perspective and the determination to get it done.

The perspective that I had to change was one of perfection. I kept thinking, “I have to have things perfect before I post this. I have to make sure that things are lined up perfectly before acting.” I let these thoughts keep me from making progress. These thoughts kept me from beginning this adventure. I had to replace these thoughts with something that would get to that beginning and keep going. Advice and encouragement from friends and family helped greatly. Also I had inspiration from some other people who began their adventures who are on YouTube. From the advice, encouragement and inspiration came my new perspective. Life is not perfect, and you don’t have to be either. Every day is an adventure. It all depends on how you look at it. These two main thoughts are what kept me pursuing to create this site. On that note, let me introduce myself and what this site will offer.

My name is Kokomo Joe and this is the Society of Every Day Adventurers (S. E. A.). I will post things about my every day adventures, however, I will not be posting everyday. Part of my everyday adventure consists of learning computer networking and gaining certificates in them; documenting my journey into affiliate marketing and how it works; taking up journaling; reviewing games, programs, products, and many more. This is the beginning of my every day adventure. Things may not be perfect right now, but that is ok. I hope you will join me and become a fellow Agent of S. E. A. Remember, every day is an adventure. It all depends on how you look at it. Until next time, keep adventuring… and don’t forget the hat.

  1. So excited about this new adventure for you Kokomo Joe! We are all on a journey and sometimes it is hard while sometimes every day is great. Never giving up on your journey is important, something I need to remind myself daily. Thanks for the encouragement and reminder to live your journey and be proud of it.
