About Me

I created this blog website to inspire and encourage others. I originally created this blog to document and potentially inspire others in their computer networking journey. As I sat down and thought about what I would do with the website, I started to think of other things that I could write about. Somewhere through the endless cloud of ideas, I had the thought of journaling. I thought about how others look to blogs and social media posts as the new journal. While I do agree that these avenues are a type of journaling, they are not a true journaling experience. Let me explain. On blogs and social media posts, we often only portray the things we want to be public to the world. Some individuals take this to the extreme and post their entire lives on them. Usually our posts are only about the happy things that happen to us. Yes, there are some of the bad things that happen to us up there too, however they are many times few and far between. While these posts have a part to play in our lives, they do not tell the whole story. They do not capture the private moments that we do not want others to see. The adventures that we struggle and triumph through. A heartbreak, a job loss, your thoughts over a particularly difficult decision, a project finally completed, the feelings of when your child is born... etc. The little things that just really make our day. A joke a friend told, your daily cup of coffee, something nice someone does for you. These are moments that should be documented however not necessarily shared to the wider audience of the world. Documenting these moments help you remember them longer and gives you the ability to look back at all that you have lived through. Later on, whoever finds your journal, may read through and be inspired to do something that you started. Invent a new energy saving method, learn from the mistakes you have made, learn what life was like. How do we know what life was like in our past? Someone kept a journal and created a record of events that we can look back to and confirm that they actually happened. They did not think that they would be held in high esteem or be studied by many people decades after they died. They simply wanted to record and remember the adventures they encountered. I have not been journaling myself, however, creating this website has inspired me to do so. This blog will share some of the moments that I do not mind being public, but it will also remind me to make entries in my own personal journal. Every day is a new adventure; and that makes you an adventurer. You will never know what the journey of life will bring across your path. With the thought that I will be trying to rally a bunch of people to join me in journaling, I started to think of what to call this community of adventurers.
